CERC Workshop: Remote sensing for alpine natural hazards

Wednesday to Friday, 8 to 10 November 2023
at the SLF in Davos with day excursion to Brienz/Brinzauls, GR

Contents

Remote sensing technologies and methods are increasingly and successfully used for the detection and monitoring of alpine natural hazards. In this three-day course we will show where and how such technologies can be usefully applied and where their limitations lie. Through lectures, an excursion and applied exercises, participants will learn where they themselves can profitably use remote sensing technology in the future.

Learning objectives

  • Field report: What works well?
  • Limitations: What does not work (yet)?
  • Future trends
  • Data processing: How to analyse data?
  • Practical exercises in groups

Target group

The workshop is for a maximum of 25 participants from

  • engineering offices
  • federal and cantonal offices
  • universities and research institutions

Workshop language

The main language is German. Selected parts will be presented in English.
