Weather and climate extremes in mountain regions

Weather and climate extremes such as heavy precipitation or heat waves are increasing as global warming progresses. In the Alpine region in particular, they have the potential to trigger social and economic crises, for example if natural hazards increase or cause greater damage than before. CERC contributes to improve research on these extremes and their risks and to find solutions to mitigate or manage them for the benefit of society.
